river trip (a bit of time out)

Yesterday, I was getting bored with project follow-ups so I decided to grab my trusty camera and went out for a trip along Chao Phraya river. I took the BTS to Taksin Bridge station then hopped onto a Chao Phraya express “tourist boat” (from the Sathorn pier, aka CENTRAL pier). The boat runs up the river to Pra Arthit pier and then turns around back to Sathorn pier. The one-day ticket (unlimited trips including shuttle boats) costs 100 baht.

I got off at Pra Arthit pier and took the shuttle boat to the Royal Barges Museum. The entrance fee is 10 baht (30 baht for foreigner). But since I wanted to take photos, I had to pay 100 baht extra for the “camera fee” which I don’t mind. %(me)Being able to see the Royal Barges close-up used to be beyond my imagination!% … And now, the photos …

I planned to drop by the Anatomical Museum at Siriraj Hospital too. Unfortunately, I went out a bit late in the morning so I didn’t have enough time left (the museum closed at 4pm). Maybe next time …

That’s it for today. Take care!!

%(me)Will post some close-up shots on Flickr tomorrow.%
