Going thru my pile of papers, I came across “the origin” of FinalPiece. We had a problem register the old name, iDESIGNPLUS, with the government (for some stupid reasons). So we have to come up with a new name for the company.
I can’t remember the reason why we came up with FinalPiece but we had a couple of ideas.
We settled with FinalPiece. Then we had to come up with the logo. We only tried out one. But I don’t know why we stopped there.

Anyway, the current logo was done by n~Por and modified a little by my project manager/graphic designer.
I can’t remember which came first, the slogan or the draft logo.
Between all that, we did came up with the menu.
And that’s how FinalPiece began.
Oh, is it okay if I post the company banner on my own website? :P

The honeymoon period is not over yet. There are still a lot of things to settle down. But I guess those are internal matters now so I think I should not be posting anything up here. Or the shareholders would be very upset.
This I can write about. I am currently (still!) working on the company’s internal database. I think I have mentioned it once some weeks back. That version was written on PHP and was abandoned. Earlier last week, I had an urge to try the new (not really new anymore, actually) web framework called Ruby on Rails. And so I tried.
I am not going to go into details here because I have already bored many of the usual Readers already. Let’s just say, what I have managed to get done in days with PHP (in my regular ‘fast-coding’ mode) could be done in a matter of an hour with Rails.
Now that’s impressive.
Dinner time, gotta go.

P.S. #2 Thanks Jaam for the correction. And I think I totally agree with your dad. So from now on, I will try to say “ระบบสุริยะ” when I refer to the Solar System then! (If I do not forget, that is.)
P.S. #3 One thing I do not understand, why getting an I.D. needs quota? What kind of government does this to the people? Oh, the kind of government that tries very hard to issue the I.D. to every immigrant workers!
