My MD schedule Pipeline/status call every Friday. Instead of “How was your weekend?” (if the meeting is on Monday), we always say “Have a great weekend!” to each other.

Most of the time, I walk to the employee and talk with him/her. That usually works with a (very) small company like mine.

I sometimes discuss with a couple of employees. But I rarely talk to the whole group, routinely — except to say “hey, let’s take tomorrow off.” :P

With those, you can connect better between employees and employers in term of both showing consideration about their life style and set the right direction in completing the tasks. But, of course, with this you will require a lot of skills from the boss and it works well only a small group. And, a few factors. However, better not go into details as I might turn your comment area into some articles :-D
