over here there’s this whole deal of governmental support for abstinence education rather than sex education too… basically, if you want the money from the government, you have to only teach abstinence ed (i.e. no sex until marriage) without promoting the other choices of sex ed (safe sex… condoms, pill, std prevention, etc. etc…)
Well, I think the intention of this is good… Of course abstinence is a better protection against anything than just safe sex… but in practice… I really doubt it’d work. Afterall, sex ed class is not the only place where kids learn about sex… especially here in the US where EVERYTHING seems to be sexual…
